Ms. Umarat Firdous is a Research Associate at Middle East Outlook, where she contributes to policy analysis and regional studies. She holds a postgraduate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She is the recipient of the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship awarded by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education and is currently serving as a Research Intern at the Centre for Contemporary China Studies, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. She has previously worked with the National Human Rights Commission of India, where she engaged with issues of rights, governance, and institutional frameworks.
