Middle East Outlook Launches Inaugural Issue of Darakshan: Redefining Transformation

New Delhi: Middle East Outlook (MEO) has launched the inaugural issue of Darakshan: Redefining Transformation, a thematic publication dedicated to exploring the human dimensions of conflict, social inequality and transformation. The publication brings together research, personal narratives and critical reflections on questions of dignity, identity, displacement, gender and belonging.

The first issue is organised into five thematic sections: Dareeche, examining health and sanitation; Rangzen, exploring Tibetan identity, displacement and the search for home; Bandishein, addressing dowry and gender inequality; Buu, investigating food, social hierarchies and cultural acceptance; and Muhajir, focusing on the experiences of Rohingya refugees and the challenges of exile.

Through these contributions, Darakshan seeks to bring overlooked experiences and marginalised perspectives into wider public discussion. It aims to connect academic inquiry with lived realities and encourage critical engagement with the social structures that shape everyday life.

Conceived as a space for human stories and critical voices, Darakshan reflects MEO’s commitment to broadening conversations beyond conventional political and geopolitical analysis. Its editorial vision rests on the belief that meaningful transformation requires an understanding of human experiences, recognition of dignity and engagement with the inequalities that persist within society.

The inaugural issue marks the beginning of this initiative, with the publication inviting researchers, writers and practitioners to contribute to conversations on social justice and human transformation.
